The
visitors can go to Sekumpul waterfall by car or motorcycle. From Singaraja the
visitors must find Surapati street, WR Supratman street, thats all are the main
street to go to Karangasem from Singaraja, follow that main street till you
meet T- junction in Giri Mas village. Just turn right and you will meet Jagaraga
Village, follow that road and you will meet Menyali village, Sawan village,
Bebetin village then Sekumpul Village, and you will find the sign of Sekumpul
Waterfall. Then they have to pass a narrow access that only one car can go
through at a time for some 700 meters from the main road until you find a
parking lot, next to the small cafe. Before continuing the trip, the visitors
have to pay ticket in a ticket counter near the parking area. The ticket is
really cheap, it is about Rp. 2000 for local visitors, and Rp. 5000 for foreigners.
This place becomes the starting point for hiking to reach the 7 waterfalls. The
trail follows a small beck and is bordered by rice fields. Simple homes of
local residents alongside our path allow insights into daily Balinese life. The
visitors will pass a small restaurant who offers some food, beverage and
eco-products. After that, they have to pass over 300 steep and greasy steps
leading down into a river valley. There is no bridge, so we have to ford
an approximately 15 meter wide river.
